Hallo,

as I have mentioned several times on this and on my other blogs, I love the images of Saturated Canary (Krista Smith is the designer). The hair, big eyes and layered clothing, they ask to be coloured with Copics. I made some cards for the show in Frankfurt, this was one of them. I think this is is such a girly girl with her bucket full of kisses (her doggie)

Wie ich schon mehrmals auf diesem und auf meinen anderen Blogs erwähnt habe, liebe ich die Motive von Saturated Canary (die Designerin ist Krista Smith). Diese Haare, die großen Augen und die vielschichtige Kleidung bitten doch gerade zu darum, mit Copics koloriert zu werden. Ich habe ein paar Karten für die Messe in Frankfurt gemacht, das ist eine davon. Ich finde, das Motiv ist so ein typisches Mädchen mir ihrem "Bucket full of Kisses" (Eimer voller Küsse) - ihrem kleinen Hund.

The colouring is matched with the Pion Papers, they have grey and old purple in them. Of course we have the matching colours in our Copic Range.

I created an easel card, always a great design for demonstration! Under the girl I stippled some soil with a confetti technique, this technique is also used around the image, but in lighter colours.

Die Koloration ist auf die Pion Papiere abgestimmt, sie enthalten Grau und gedecktes Lila. Natürlich bietet die Copic Farbpalette die passenden Farben.

Ich habe eine Easel-Card gemacht, das ist eine großartige Kartenform für Vorführungen. Den Boden unter dem Mädchen habe ich in der Konfetti-Technik getupft. Diese Technik habe ich auch um das Motiv herum angewendet, aber in helleren Farben.

To dress up my card, I used different dies from Memory Box, Marianne Design and Magnolia. Some lace, flowers and text completed the design.

Um meine Karte zu verzieren, habe ich verschiedene Schablonen von Memorybox, Marianne Design und Magnolia verwendet. Ein Stück Spitze, ein paar Blumen und ein Text runden das Design ab.

Colouring White Tutorial

Hello Copic lovers! It's nervous Delphine here, I am posting my very first tutorial! It is about "Colouring White", because white needs to be coloured!
Hallo Copic-Fans! Hier ist die nervöse Delphine, ich poste heute mein allererstes Tutorial! Es geht um "Weiß colorieren", denn Weiß muss coloriert werden.

For this tutorial, I am using a Make It Crafty image called Cici, and to colour white, I use my Cool Greys, mostly C3, C1, C0 (and just a little bit of C5 at the end).
Ich verwende für dieses Tutorial ein Motiv von Make It Crafty namens Cici, und um Weiß zu colorieren, verwende ich meine kühlen Grautöne, vorwiegend C3, C1, C0 (und ein wenig C5 zum Schluss).

White is the first thing I colour on my image. I find it easier to start that way because my grey areas will look darker than they really are with nothing else coloured, then once the image is coloured they will look whiter (so no risk of making it too dark in the first place) and I will then only add little touches of grey for adjustement.
Zuerst coloriere ich die weißen Flächen meines Motivs. Ich finde es einfacher, damit anzufangen, denn meine grauen Bereiche wirken dunkler, wenn nichts anderes um sie herum coloriert ist. Wenn das Motiv dann coloriert ist, wirken sie weißer (daher ist das Risiko, sie gleich am Anfang zu dunkel zu machen, geringer) und ich füge dann nur noch ganz, ganz wenig Grau hinzu, um letzte Anpassungen vorzunehmen.

Step 1:

I start with C3, where I want the darkest areas to be. My light source is coming from the right.
Schritt 1:

Ich beginne mit C3 dort, wo ich die dunkelsten Stellen haben möchte. Meine Lichtquelle kommt von rechts.

Step 2:

I use C1, covering my C3 and making my grey area wider.
Schritt 2:
Ich verwende C1, bedecke damit mein C3 und verbreitere den grauen Bereich.

Step 3:

Use C0, to expand the grey a bit more.
Schritt 3:
Ich verwende C0, um den grauen Bereich noch ein wenig breiter zu machen.

Step 4:

Colour the rest of your image. On the photo below, I have not added any grey to the parts I want to be white, I have coloured everything except the white.
Schritt 4:
Ich coloriere den Rest des Motivs. Auf dem Foto unten habe ich kein weiteres Grau zu den Flächen hinzugefügt, die ich weiß haben möchte, ich habe nur alles andere coloriert.

Step 5:

Now to give more depth, I am going to add just a little bit of C5 in the "darkest" white areas.
Schritt 5:
Um dem Motiv mehr Tiefe zu geben, füge ich in den "dunkelsten" weißen Bereiche nur ein kleines bisschen C5 hinzu.

Step 6:

Add a little bit of C3 to blend the C5.
Schritt 6:
Ich verwische die Ränder des C5 mit C3.

And voilà!

Say it with Poppies

halle Copics-Freunde,

I am hoping you are going to like today's creation which is different from my normal choice of cute images. I chose my paper first which is by Magnolia and is a vintage red. When placed next to my copic chart matched perfectly to the "R80" range. My image isa floral display of Poppies from Tiffany Doodles.

Ich hoffe, Euch wird mein Werk von heute gefallen, das ganz anders ist weil ich mal kein süßes Motiv verwendet habe. Als erstes habe ich mein Papier ausgewählt, welches von Magnolia und vintage-rot ist. Als ich es neben meine Copics Farbtabelle legte, paßte es perfekt zur R80-Serie. Mein Motiv ist eine Gruppe Mohn von Tiffany Doodles.

I have coloured some of the poppies using R85, R83, R81 and then coloured some using R89, R85, R83. By just replacing one copic (R81 for R89) creates a darker shade and gives a contrast in the colours as you can see.

Einige der Mohnblüten habe ich mit R85, R83 und R81 coloriert, andere mit R89, R85 und R83. Indem ich nur eine Farbnummer ausgetauscht habe (R81 durch R89) habe ich einen dunkeren Farbton erhalten und Kontrast erzeugt.

For the leaves I have used YG67, YG63, G20.

Jane better known as Jane's Box of Colours is an artist who can turn her hand to colouring in a wide variety of mediums, but in particular Jane has a love for Copics, which is definitely evident in the photo below, gosh she has used alot of copics.

Wir haben eine weiter fabelhafte Gast-Designerin, die heute eine Karte mit uns teilt. Jane, besser bekannt als Jane's Box of Colours, ist eine Künstlerin, die mit vielen verschiedenen Colorations-Techniken arbeitet. Aber Copics liebt Jane besonders, was besonders auf dem Foto unten zu Sehen ist. Mein Gott - sie hat so viele Copics verwendet.

I am a farmer's wife and Mum to a teenage son. I have in the past painted watercolour portraits, designed craft dies and for the last 18 months I have been discovering the world of stamping and Copic markers.

In der Hotelbar coloriert/Coloured at the Hotel's Bar

Dieses Motiv habe ich in der Bar des Hotels in Wiesbaden coloriert, in dem wir nach der Copic Certification Instructor Schulung gegessen haben. Wir, das waren Diny, Anni, Lydia, Erna, Kathrin, Doreen und ich. Diny wollte uns gerne noch die tolle Colorationstechnik für Haare erklären, die Wenda aus dem Team des Copic Marker Benelux Blogs verwendet, und da wir während des Kurses keine Zeit dafür hatten, haben wir eben nach dem Essen in der Hotelbar unsere Copics ausgepackt und coloriert. Diese Technik ist sehr zeitaufwändig und ich werde sicher noch sehr viel Übung brauchen, bis ich auch nur annähernd so schöne Ergebnisse erreiche wie Wenda, aber der Aufwand lohnt sich.

I coloured this image at the bar of the Hotel, where we had eaten after the Copic Certification Instructor Class. We, that means Diny, Anni, Lydia, Erna, Kathrin, Doreen and me. Diny wanted to tell us about the great hair colouring technique Wenda from the Copic Marker Benelux Blog has developed and because there had been not enough time during the class, we took out our Copic Markers and started colouring at the hotel's bar. This technique is very time comsuming and I will need a lot of practice before I reach results that come even close to Wenda's, but it is worth it.

Tutorial - Face coloring

Hello dear Copic Friends!

Hallo liebe Copic Freunde!

Today it's my turn to show you how I color Tilda's face.

Heute bin ich an der Reihe und zeige euch, wie ich Tilda's Gesicht coloriere.

Step 1: First I stamp my image "Tilda with Lovely Lace Shoes" with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on 224g Canson Natural white drawing paper.

Schritt 1: Zuerst stemple ich mein Bild "Tilda with Lovely Lace Shoes" mit Memento Tuxedo Black Tinte auf 224g Naturweisses Canson Zeichenpapier.

Step 2: I always begin with my lightest color E0000 and leave the center free which will be the lightest part in the end. To get the best result, use the side of your brush and go from the face edge towards the center by doing it with flicking motions.

Schritt 2: Ich beginne immer mit der hellsten Farbe E0000 und lasse die Mitte frei, die am hellsten bleiben soll. Mit dem Marker führe ich schnelle Strich Bewegungen vom Gesichtsrand Richtung Zentrum.

Step 3: Next I take the darker color E000 and do the same flicking motions over the color I did before, but do not cover all of it. I let a small edge free.

Schritt 3: Als nächstes nehme ich die dunklere Farbe E000 und gehe mit der selben Feder Technik über die vorhin colorierte Farbfläche, aber nicht darüber hinaus. Ich lasse einen kleinen Rand stehen.

Step 4: Now I repeat the same as in Step 3 with the color E00.

Schritt 4: Nun mache ich das selbe mit der Farbe E00.

Step 5: I do the same with the E70 as before.

Schritt 5: Und auch mit E70 mache ich das selbe wie vorhin.

Step 6: Now I use E000 and go over the E70, E00 and E000 to blend the color transitions.

Schritt 6: Nun blende ich mit der E000 über die E70, E00 und E000, um die Farbübergänge zu kaschieren.

Step 7: Now I go over all colors with E0000 and blend them together until I like the result.

Schritt 7: Jetzt blende ich mit der E0000 so lange über alle Farben bis mir das Resultat gefällt.

Step 8: Apply R30 in small circles on cheek areas.

Schritt 8: Mit Kreisbewegungen bringe ich die R30 für die Wangen an.

Step 9: To get more contrast I apply some dots of R22 in the center.

Schritt 9: Um etwas mehr Kontrast zu erzeugen, füge ich mit der R22 in der Mitte noch einige Punkte dazu.

Step 10: As a last step I blend with the E0000 the edges of the cheek colors together. I use the Colorless Blender 0 to remove excess paint around Tilda's face.

Schritt 10: Als letzer Schritt blende ich mit der E0000 über die Farbränder der Wangen. Mit dem Colorless Blender 0 entferne ich die überschüssige Farbe rund um Tilda's Gesicht.

Additional Step 11: To make Tilda's cheeks shiny and special, add three little dots of Liquid Pearls White Opal on each of her cheecks and let it dry.

Zusätzlicher Schritt 11: Damit Tilda's Wangen mehr zum Vorschein kommen, gebe je drei kleine Punkte Liquid Pearls White Opal darauf und lasse es trocknen.

will go out of your hand very easy now!

She uses Copic Multiliners, they are specially made for Copic Markers.

If you don't have any Multiliners, you can use any other fineliner.

Jing verwendet Copic Multiliners, sie sind speziell für Copic Marker gemacht.
Falls Ihr keine Multiliner besitzt, könnt Ihr auch jeden anderen Fineliner verwenden.

But when you use another fineliner, make sure that you use this part at the end

when you are finished coloring, because other brands can give a reaction.

Your black lines will be smudges.

Aber falls Ihr eine andere Fineliner-Marke verwendet achtet bitte darauf, dass Ihr das Doodlen erst macht, wenn Ihr mit dem Colorieren fertig seid, denn jede andere Marke wird mit den Copics reagieren. Eure schwarzen Linien werden verwischen.

Tutorial on 3D paper piecing Copic colored images

Here Mariska from The Netherlands again. Today I wanted to show you how I 3D paper piece the images I color with my Copic Markers. What you'll need to try this is:

Hier ist wieder Mariska aus den Niederlanden. Heute möchte ich euch zeigen, wie ich die Motive, die ich mit meinen Copics coloriert habe, in 3D zusammensetze. Um das zu versuchen, braucht ihr Folgendes:

* Digi image Angie by Wee Stamps (in March to be released as a rubber stamp by Whimsy Stamps) or any other stamp or digi
* Paper to stamp or print on (I use Paper Temptress Iridescent Cryogen White)
* Copic Markers (of course :))
* Precision scissors and/or craft knife
* Memento Dual Tip Marker Tuxedo Black
* Pergamano embossing tools and mat
* White gelpen (mine is from a Dutch store named the Hema)
* Olba Glue kit with syringes
* Pair of tweezers

* Digi image Angie von Wee Stamps (wird im März als Gmmistempel von Whimsy Stamps veröffentlicht) oder einen anderen Stempel oder Digi
* Papier, um das Motiv abzustempeln oder auszudrucken (Ich verwende Iridescent Cryogen White von Paper Temptress)

First I print or stamp the image several times. In this case I printed the image six times. Five of the images have been printed very close to each other, the sixth image has enough space around it so I can cut this in the shape I want to at the end. Next step is coloring with Copic Markers.
Zuerst drucke oder stempele ich das Motiv mehrere Male. In diesem Fall habe ich das Motiv sechsmal ausgedruckt. Fünf der Abbildungen liegen sehr nah beieinander, die sechste hat genug Platz um sich herum, so dass ich es zum Schluss in die Form schneiden kann, die ich möchte. Der nächste Schritt ist die Coloration mit Copic Markern.

Instead of coloring the entire image in one printed image I color every single piece apart from each other. I can use several parts of one image but I am careful that two colored parts of the image don't touch each other and have enough space between them to let me cut them out later. In the picture above you can see for instance that I have colored the face of sweet Angie in one image and the neck, that is connected to the face, in a second one. I use the image that I have given a bit more space then the others (the image on the right bottom) as a base image. In this image I color the background and the pieces that are way at the back, in this case the right wing for instance. I decided to do a polka dotted background on this image.
Ich coloriere nicht bei allen Abbildungen das ganze Motiv, sondern in jeder Abbildung coloriere ich einzelne Teile getrennt von einander. Ich kann dabei zwar mehrere Teile aus einer Abbildung verwenden, muss aber darauf achten, dass die einander nicht berühren und dass genug Platz dazwischen ist, damit ich sie später ausschneiden kann. Auf dem oberen Foto seht ihr zum Beispiel, dass ich das Gesicht der süßen Angie in der einen Abbildung coloriert habe, ihren Hals, der mit dem Gesicht verbunden ist, aber in einer anderen. Ich verwende die Abbildung, der ich etwas mehr Platz gegeben habe (die unten rechts), als Basis. Bei dieser Abbildung coloriere ich den Hintergrund und die Teile, die am weistesten hinten sind, in diesem Fall z.B. der rechte Flügel. Ich habe entschieden, einen gepunkteten Hintergrund um das Motiv zu machen.

I am now going to decide from every little piece I’ve colored what adjoining piece is going to be the base for another piece. For instance, in the matter of the face, the hair adjoining the face is going to be a higher layer then the face, so the hair next to the face that I’ve colored is going to serve as a base for that. I am now coloring part of all these adjoining base pieces with my W5 Copic Marker. I do this because when the image is finished you are not only going to be looking at it from straight above. When you don’t color the base pieces in a dark color you will see a lot of white when you don’t look at the paper pieced image from straight above and I personally don’t like that. I also color almost the complete image of the base image because most of this is of course going to serve as a base for the pieces later on.

Nun muss ich für jedes einzelne kleine Teil, das ich coloriert habe, entscheiden, welches anschließende Teil die Basis für das nächste Teil darstellt. Zum Beispiel beim Gesicht muss das daran anschließende Haar auf einer höheren Schicht liegen, als das Gesicht selber. Das Haar neben dem colorierten Gesicht dient somit als Basis dafür. Ich coloriere jetzt alle anschließenden Basisteile mit Copic Marker W5. Ich tue das, weil man das fertige Bild nicht nur genau von oben ansehen wird. Wenn man diese Teile nicht in einer dunklen Farbe coloriert, würde viel Weiß zu sehen sein, wenn man nicht ganz genau von oben daraufschaut und ich persönlich mag das nicht. Ich coloriere auch fast das komplette Basis-Bild auf diese Weise, da es ja als Basis für die folgenden Teile dient.

Next is the cutting. I cut every piece I have colored WITH attached the adjoining W5 colored base parts.
Das Ausschneiden kommt als nächstes. Ich schneide alle Teile, die ich coloriert habe, MIT den anschließenden in W5 colorierten Basisteilen aus.

Here you see the cut pieces I have already cut from the two bottom images stacked on the base image. As you can see I still need to cut the pieces from the images at the top of the sheet at this point. Stacking like this lets me see if I have cut and colored every part... and it's just fun to see the image built like this :).

Hier seht ihr die ausgeschnittenen Teile, die ich bereits aus den zwei unteren Abbildungen ausgeschnitten und auf die Basis-Abbildung aufgelegt habe. Wie ihr sehen könnt, muss ich noch die Teile aus den oberen Abbildungen ausschneiden. Sie so "aufzustapeln" hilft mir zu sehen, ob ich alle Teile richtig ausgeschnitten und coloriert habe...und es macht Spaß zu sehen, wie sich das Bild aufbaut :).

Next step is I take my dual tip memento marker and with the large side of this marker I color the sides of all the pieces I have just cut. The reason is the same as why I colored all the base parts with W5, when you look at the image from the side and the sides of the cut parts aren't colored you are going to see white sides, I find that the completed images looks MUCH better with the sides colored. Diny asked me why I don't use a Copic marker to do this, reason is that the side of the paper is going to absorb the ink from the Copic marker quicker and you will end up with black ink in your image. You will have to work fast with the Memento marker as well though.
Im nächten Schritt nehme ich meinen Dual Tip Memento Marker und coloriere mit der großen Spitze die Seiten aller Teile, die ich gerade ausgeschnitten habe. Der Grund hierfür ist der gleiche, warum ich auch die Basis-Teile mit W5 coloriere, wenn man das Motiv von der Seite anschaut und die Seiten der ausgeschnittenen Teile sind nicht coloriert, dann sieht man diese weißen Schnittkanten und ich finde, das fertige Motiv sieht VIEL besser aus, wenn die Schnittkanten coloriert sind. Diny hat mích gefragt, warum ich dafür keinen Copic Marker verwende, der Grund ist, dass die Schnittkanten die Farbe viel schneller aufsaugen und man dann schwarze Farbe in das Motiv bekommt. Auch mit dem Memento Marker muss man schon schnell arbeiten.

Almost ready to paper piece but first I emboss the little pieces. I take the Pergamano embossing tools and mat. I put the image on the mat with the colored side facing down, and with the ball of the embossing tool I push down a little and go round in circles. The images should be slightly rounded on the colored side when you are ready. Don't press to hard though.
Kurz bevor ich die Teile zusammenfüge, embosse ich die kleinen Teile. Ich nehme das Pergamo Embossing-Werzeug und die Matte. Ich platziere das Motiv mit der colorierten Seite nach unten, drücke es mit dem Embossing-Werkzeug etwas an und fahre in kleinen Kreisen darüber. Die Teile sollten leicht gewölbt sein, wenn ihr damit fertig seid. Drückt nicht zu doll auf.

Here you see all the colored, cut, side colored and embossed pieces together with the base. Before you start putting the image together (the next step) you want to cut the image in the shape you want it. Once finished you won't be able to put your image in a cutting machine. I also ink the edges of the image in this stage.
Hier seht ihr alle colorierten, auch am Rand eingefärbten und embossten Teile zusammen mit der Basis. Bevor ihr im nächsten Schritt das Motiv zusammensetzt, solltet ihr das Motiv in die Form schneiden, die ihr möchtet. Ihr werdet das fertige Motiv nicht mehr in eine Schneidemaschine bekommen. An dieser Stelle färbe ich auch die Ränder des Motivs ein.

Next step is paper piecing. I fill the syringe of my Olba Glue and carefully decide which part of the image is going to be the most in the back of the image. I decide where the glue should go, put on a bit of the glue and...
Im nächsten Schritt wird es zusammengesetzt. Ich fülle die Spritze mir Olba Glue Kleber und wähle aus, welches Teil des Motivs am weitesten hinten liegt. Ich entscheide, wo der Kleber hinmuss, trage etwas Kleber auf und...

... using my tweezers put the colored piece on top of the glue. I put the piece in the glue making sure the glue supports the piece of paper but I don't press down on it, I don't want to flatten the image but I want it to be layered. The glue is very strong once set and will hold the piece perfectly in place.

...und platziere das colorierte Stückchen Papier mit der Pinzette oben auf den Kleber drauf. Ich lege es so auf den Kleber, dass sicher ist, das überall Kleber drunter ist, der das Teil stützt, aber ich drücke es nicht an. Ich möchte das Bild Schicht für Schicht aufbauen, nicht flachdrücken. Der Kleber ist sehr stark, wenn er getrocknet ist und wird das Teil perfekt an seinem Platz halten.

And here is my finished image, I have added Stickles, glossy accents and highlights with my white gelpen.

I have created a baby box with the image. I'll replace the name and date of birth when I have a baby to give this gift box to but for now the box is made for cute little Angie, the name of the stamp.

today I'm showing you my last card as a Guestdesigner for this blog. I hope you liked my cards, I did my best to show you my colourwork. I coloured on DCP paper, and as you can see, its a bit hard to blend the darker colours of the bear. The background I airbrushed with a grey colour.

It's not the usual colour group pink, I have chosen a orange and brown card. The image is from Mo Manning, the papers I used are from Wild Rose Studio. The background of the card is made with a nestabillities die, and of course I used some gemstones, and 2 flowers. The card is not so filled up with embellishments, I wanted to keep it light.

Dotted Background Tutorial

It's tutorial day again and today I, Kathrin, am going to show you how to make a dotted background around your image. I love how this adds depth and "life" to your image and I especially love it with any child images.

Es ist wieder Tutorial-Tag und heute zeige ich, Kathrin, Euch, wie Ihr einen gepunkteten Hintergrund um Euer Motiv setzen könnt. Ich finde es toll, wie diese Art von Schatten einem Motiv gleichzeitig Tiefe aber auch Leben verleiht. Mir persönlich gefällt diese Art besonders gut bei Kinder-Motiven.

Take a stamped image and use any color you like to use. I already did this with this cute image by SCACD.

Wähle ein gestempeltes Motiv und coloriere es in den Farben, die Du gerne verwenden möchtest. Ich habe dies hier bereits mit dem süßen Motiv von SCACD getan.

Next step is to choose which color you want your shadow to be. I decided to go with a blue here but you can do it any color you want to. Also mixing colors is great, i. e. blue and violet or red and orange.

The best results are made by using 3 shades of colors. Always pick a light one, a middle tone and a darker one.

Als nächstes müßt Ihr entscheiden, welche Farbe euer Hintergrund haben soll. Ich habe hier ein Blau verwendet aber natürlich könnt Ihr jede Farbe nehmen. Es sieht auch toll aus, verschiedene Töne zu mischen, z. B. blau und lila oder rot und orange.

Das beste Ergebnis erzielt man, wenn man 3 Farbschattierungen verwendet - wählt immer einen hellen, einen mittleren und einen dunkleren Farbton aus.

I decided to use BG11, BG13 and BG18 for my background. I always start with the middle tone and place little dots around the image. The dots are bigger close to the image, the further away from the image I get the smaller the dots will be. The size of your dots depends on the pressure you make them with. The harder you press the bigger the dot will turn out.

Ich habe mich entschieden, die Farben BG11, BG13 und BG18 für den Hintergrund zu verwenden. Ich beginne mit dem mittleren Farbton und setze rund um mein Motiv kleine Punkte. Nah am Motiv setze ich größere Punkte, je weiter vom Motiv ich mich entferne, desto kleiner werden die Punkte. Die Punktgröße könnt Ihr durch den Druck, mit dem Ihr die Punkte zeichnet, bestimmen. Je fester Ihr aufdrückt, desto größer wird der Punkt.

It's totally up to you how large you want your shadow to be - you can create a whole background or, like I did, just a small area around your image. To make the shadow look more vivid I did not follow the outlines of the image directly, I added some little "swirls" that go away from the image.

Es ist ganz und gar Eurem persönlichen Geschmack überlassen, wie breit Ihr den Schatten macht - Ihr könnt den kompletten Hintergrund gestalten oder, wie ich hier, nur einen schmalen Streifen rund um das Motiv. Um den Schatten etwas lebendiger wirken zu lassen habe ich nicht einen gleichbreiten Streifen rund um die Außenlinien des Motiv gepunktet, sondern noch keine Schnörkel, die vom Motiv aus weggehen, hinzgefügt.

Next color I use is BG11. Close to the image I am using it to fill all the white areas between the BG13 dots but I also add some additional dots next to the BG13 ones, further away from the image, to let the shadow fade out and not end with a hard line.

Als nächstes verwende ich BG11. Direkt am Motiv benutze ich diesen Farbton, um alle weißen Stellen zwischen den BG13-Punkten zu füllen aber ich habe, außerhalb der zuvor mit BG13 gemachten Punkte, noch weitere Punkt gemacht, damit der Schatten sanft ausläuft und nicht abrupt endet.

Now I use the BG18 marker to add more depth. I am adding this mostly to the areas that are in the shadow, i. e. on her back, under her arms etc. I don't add any dots of the darkest tone to the parts of the image that would be directly in the light, i. e. the front of her face.

Nun verwende ich den Marker BG18 um mehr Tiefe ins Motiv zu bekommen. Diese dunkelsten Punkte setze ich hauptsächlich an die Bereiche, die im Schatten liegen würden, z. B. der Rücken, die Bereiche unter den Armen etc. Keine Punkte setze ich an die Bereiche, die direkt im Licht liegen würden, z. B. im Gesicht.

As the last step I like to add a middle grey tone to the ground to make it look different than the "air" around the image.

Als letzten Schritt benutze ich gerne noch einen mittleren Grauton, um den Boden von der "Luft" rund um das Motiv abzuheben.

I went with a T6 here and only added little dots to the ground. Where the image touches the ground I add more dots than I do where the image isn't creating a shadow on the ground.

Ich habe hierfür T6 verwendet und habe nur kleine Punkte auf den Boden gesetzt. Dort, wo das Motiv den Boden berührt setze ich mehr Punkte als dort, wo das Motiv keinen Schatten auf den Boden wirft.

I didn't use too many embellishments to make the image the focus on the card.

The papers are all kind of brands, some of them left overs so I even don't know the brand anymore.

The swirl is made using a Sizzix die by Tim Holtz, the text is by Stampin'Up.

Heute bin ich (DeeDee) an der Reihe und zeige euch ein Tutorial, wie ich schwarze Haare bei meinen Motiven coloriere.

On this image I already colored the skin. I always do the skin first, if you do it later it can happen that your dark ink (in this case black) may run into the lighter colors. And this does not only not look pretty, it also means a lot of work and trouble if you have to start all over again.

Hier habe ich schon mal die Haut coloriert. Das mache ich immer als aller erstes, weil es sonst passieren kann, dass euch die dunkle (hier schwarze Farbe) in die hellere Farbe beim colorieren verläuft. Und das sieht natürlich nicht schön aus und macht nachher viel mehr Arbeit und Ärger, wenn man noch mal von neuem beginnen muss.

When doing hair I always start with the lightest color (C3) and leave those areas without color that I want to be the lightest later.

I go on with the darker tone (C5) and color the areas, that I colored with my C3 before, leaving a little of the C3 uncovered. I think the photo shows it.

I repeat what I did in step 2 using C7.

And than again the same using the darkest tone C9.

To make the color transitions from C9 to C3 a little bit softer I use the C5 marker and blend the areas from C9 to C3.

Um die Farbübergänge von C9 zu C3 ein wenig weicher zu machen, blende ich nun noch einmal mit C5 über C9 bis zu C3.

Step 6 - last one:
Now I use C3 to color all the remaining areas and blend it all together - until I like the result. Make sure to not color too far into the dark areas (I didn't go any further than into the C5 areas) or the color might fade and bleed out of your outlines.

Nun blende ich mit C3 so lange über die Fläche, bis mir der Farbverlauf gefällt! Dabei solltet ihr darauf achten, dass ihr nicht zu weit in die dunklen Bereiche geht. In meinem Beispiel bin ich nicht weiter als in den C5 Bereich gegangen. Sonst blenden die Farben unschön aus und ihr bekommt hässliche Ränder.

Hallo Copic-Fans,

I've made a Valentine's card today using a great digi image from Saturated Canary called Love Letters.
I love working with digi images as you can make them as large or small as you want, but I usually print my images out and leave them for a day before colouring them with my Copic Markers to prevent the ink from smudging.

Ich habe heute eine Valentins-Karte gemacht und dafür ein großartiges Digi namens Love Letters von Saturated Canary verwendet.

Until now there have been questions, and I hope to give you the answers now. I made a list of Basic Colours in the Copic Ciao range, for that I made a special colour chart to colour them in. I also made a list for you when you choose the Copic Sketch markers, there will be a difference because there are more colours to choose from.
You know that the colours in both markers are the same B0 in Ciao is the same colour as the B0 in Sketch. Choose at least 3 colours in a group, when there are more indicated, you can skip the darkest or one in between. Only for the hair colours I made the enumeration from dark to light, because I colour them that way.

Bis jetzt habe ich Euch nur Fragen gestellt - und ich hoffe, Euch nun Antworten geben zu können. Ich habe eine Liste mit Grundfarben aus der Copic Ciao Gruppe zusammengestellt. Dafür habe ich eine spezielle Farbkarte erstellt, in der Ihr Eure Marker eintragen könnt. Ich habe auch eine Liste mit Kombinationen für Sketch Marker erstellt, falls ich Euch für die entscheiden solltet. Es gibt Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Farbkarten, denn bei Sketch Markern gibt es mehr Farben, aus denen Ihr wählen könnt.
Ihr wißt, dass die Farben in beiden Markertypen identisch sind. B0 als Ciaomarker ist genau die selbe Farbe wie B0 als Sketchmarker. Wählt mindestens 3 Farben aus einer Gruppe - wenn mehr vorgeschlagen sind, könnt Ihr die dunkelste oder eine mittlere Farbe auslassen. Nur für die Haarfarben habe ich die Nummern von dunkel nach hell aufgezhält, denn so coloriere ich Haare.

Dont you just love this tiny little tag. Wel i like him a lot the tiny little hearts are covered with red stickles. And what about the background i sprayed that with my airbrush. And how i make the clouds wel just watch the youtube and you will find out.

Hello Copic lovers! As you can see, I'm very happy to post my first DT card today! I decided I would try to make a 100% Copic card, well as close as possible to a 100% to celebrate, with the focus on my image. Actually I often do that, and make very simple cards...

Hallo Copic-Freunde! Wie Ihr sehen könnt, freue ich mich sehr, heute meine erste DT-Karte zu posten! Um das zu feiern, habe ich mich entschieden, eine 100%ige Copic-Karte zu machen, naja, so nah man eben an 100 % herankommen kann. Der Focus liegt auf dem Motiv.
Eigentlich mache ich das oft und mache ziemlich einfache Karten...

I have used two digi images by Make It Crafty for my card, Zoe All Excited and Rose Garden. My Rose Garden has been cropped, "mirrored", and used twice to have it exactly as I wanted it for my background, so don't be surprised if you find differences with the original image! The sentiment is a Paper Makeup stamp.

Colouring with two Copic Markers

Hello, dear Copic friends,

Hallo liebe Copicfreunde,

today I want to show you two techniques that can help you, when you have only two shades of a colour. We do always recommend to use three Marker to achieve a nice blending, but sometimes this is just not possible.
heute möchte ich euch zwei Techniken vorstellen, mit denen ihr euch behelfen könnt, wenn ihr nur zwei weiter auseinanderliegende Farbtöne zur Verfügung habt. Wir empfehlen ja grundsätzlich, für einen schönen Farbverlauf drei Marker zu verwenden, aber manchmal ist das einfach nicht möglich.

The combination of BG70, BG72, BG75 and BG78 is one of my favourite blue-greens, but the difference between BG70 and BG72 is very strong.
Die Kombination von BG70, BG72, BG75 und BG78 ergibt einen meiner liebsten Blau-Grün-Töne, aber der Unterschied zwischen BG70 und BG72 ist ziemlich groß.

In my swatchbook I marked BG70 with an additional pencilmark, because you can hardly see the difference to white.

At first, I coloured the other parts of the image (Sweet Blossom by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps) and applied BG70 on the legs, the dress and the hairband.

The first technique for two Markers I used, is just to apply several layers of colour.

That's what it looks like with only one layer:

The second technique you can use is called palette-blending. This technique is similar to a painter's using oil or acrylic colour, a palette and a paintbrush.

Die zweite Technik, die ihr verwenden könnt, nennt man Paletten-Technik. Sie ist ähnlich wie bei einem Maler, der Öl- oder Acrylfarbe, eine Palette und einen Pinsel verwendet.

You have to apply a bit of the darker colour onto something with a glossy surface. I used an acrylic block and scribbled some of my darker colour BG72 onto it.

Man muss etwas von der dunkleren Farbe auf einen Gegenstand mit einer glatten Oberfläche auftragen. Ich habe einen Acrylklotz verwendet und etwas Farbe mit meinem dunkleren Marker BG72 aufgemalt.

Then I took some of this colour onto my lighter Marker BG70, using it like a paintbrush ...

As already announced, we are having a Copic Class

on Friday, 3rd February 2012

in our premises in Wiesbaden,

Berta-Cramer-Ring 14 - 16

65205 Wiesbaden.

The class will be a combined Copic Certification-/Copic Certification Instructor Class, which means that those who have not yet participated at a Copic Certification Class can become Instructor by participating at the class on Friday (but must send some projects afterwards to Diny to receive the corresponding "Instructor Certificate").

n.b. for the Benelux and Germany we don't need more Instructors, only for some other contries.
From every country you can apply for the Designer Class.

Those who only want to become Copic Certified participate at the class and receive the "Copic Certified Designer-Certificate" right after the class.

The class, which will be held in English, starts at 9.30 and ends at around 16.30 h/17.00 h and costs EUR 150,00.

Snacks, Beverages and Lunch is included. Manual, technique book and material for practising will be provided.

I'm going to show you my second card I made as a guest designer for this blog.

ich zeige euch meine zweite Karte, die ich als Gastdesigerin für diesen Blog gemacht habe.

I used a image of KennyK, it’s the first time I worked with this stamps, and I love it. Especially the hair! beautiful long hair to colour. I chose to work with no more than 2 colour groups, orange and red/brown, in total I used 11 Copic sketch markers including the skincolors.

Ich habe ein Motiv von KennyK verwendet, es ist das erste Mal, dass ich mit diesen Stempeln gearbeitet habe und ich liebe es. Besonders die Haare! Schönes langes Haar zum Colorieren. Ich habe mich entschieden, nur mit 2 Farbgruppen zu arbeiten, Orange und Rot-Braun, insgesamt habe ich 11 Copic Sketch Marker einschließlich der Hauttöne verwendet.

This time I made an easel card, it’s a card that folds out and leans on the little flowers to hold it upright.

The background behind the image is a nestabillitie from Spellbinder.

Dieses Mal habe ich eine Easelcard gemacht, das ist eine Karte, die man aufstellt und die von den kleinen Blumen aufrecht gehalten wird.

Der Hintergrund hinter dem Motiv ist mit einer Nestabilitie-Schablone von Spellbinders gemacht.

The paper I used is from Bo Bunny, a gift of love

For the text labels I use a die called Xcut from Docrafts the text stamps are from Forever friends

I used a lot of paper flowers, a ribbon, and plastic flowers where the top of the card is leaning on.

If you open the card completely you will see I put on a swirl to decorate that part of the card

As you can see in the close-up image I gave the image eyeshadow colour, I have never seen it before on a stamp, I really love it as makes the image more alive.

I used 2 main colours groups,

E09, E19, E08 for the red/brown colour/für die rot-braune Farbe

YR24, YR23, Y21 for the orange colours/für die orange Farbe

and the E11, E01, E000 and R20 for the skin colour/für die Hautfarbe

Have you seen the new artist at Crafts and Me????? Her name is Zindy Nielsen and she has the most amazing life images. I have used Red Riding Hood and coloured the image in black and white with only her hood in red. I'm loving black and white colouring at the moment.

Habt Ihr die neue Künstlerin auf "Crafts and Me" gesehen?????? Ihr Name ist Zindy Nielsen und sie hat wunderbar lebhafte Motive. Ich habe Rotkäppchen verwendet und das Motiv in schwarz und weiß coloriert. Nur Ihr Umhang ist rot. Momentan liebe ich Schwarz-Weiß-Colorationen.

I would normally match my papers to my copic chart to pick out the colours I am going to use but as I have used mainly black cardstock and white papers, it didn't matter which colour markers I chose to work with, but I was looking for a strong red, so went for R35, R37, R39, R89 and C7 for the darker shaded areas.

I have used most of the Cool Greys. I coloured her dress using C3, C1, C00

I have used C1, C00 on her face with only a touch of C3 for the shading areas. I didn't want her face to look dirty. For the trees in the foreground I have used C5, C3, C1, COO and for her hair I have used C7, C5, C3. By using different combinations of the greys I have tried to make the image contrast rather than appearing flat by using one combinatiion everywhere. Hopefully you can see this.

Für das Gesicht habe ich C1, C00 und für die schattierten Bereiche einen Hauch C3 verwendet. Ich wollte ja nicht, dass das Gesicht schmutzig aussieht. Für die Bäumeim Vordergrund habe ich C5, C3, C1 und C00 und für die Haare C7, C5, C3 benutzt.
Dadurch, dass ich verschiedene Grauton-Kombinationen verwendet habe, habe ich das Motiv kontrastreicher gestaltet. Hätte ich die selbe Kombination auf dem ganzen Motiv verwendet, hätte es flach und ohne Tiefe gewirkt. Ich hoffe, das kann man erkennen.

and looking forward to the weekend …

just quiet, relax and easy.

So I made a simple tutorial to make your weekend not so hectic

yet keeping your creative mojo alert …

something that I used to do a lot as child –

… the last pages of my notebooks were just full of "whatever" images, names, swirls.

And the character Snoopy and gang was just my old time favorite.

I wished I kept them.

Doodles are simple drawings for fun but it can also have meaning … an interpretation that only you will know.

A Birthday Wish with Lili of the Valley

Hallo Copic-Fans!

This is going to be my first post for the Copic Marker Europe blog and I couldn't be more excited (and slightly nervous). I really hope you like what I made for you today with the pretty Little Dot "Birthday Wish" by Lili of the Valley stamps:

Das ist mein erster Beitrag für den Copic Marker Europe Blog und ich könnte nicht aufgeregter sein (und leicht nervös). Ich hoffe wirklich, dass ihr mögt, was ich heute mit dem süßen Motiv Little Dot 'Birthday Wish' von Lili of the Valley für euch gemacht habe:

Isn't she absolutely adorable in her gorgeous blue dress and her pretty stickled up golden wings. Because of the card design (a Double Dutch Fold) I had a little difficulty taking a picture of the total card. Here is a close up of the top of the card so you can see the Copic colored image better:
Ist sie nicht absolut bezaubernd in ihrem niedlichen blauen Kleid und ihren hübschen goldenen Flügeln, auf denen Stickles aufgetragen wurden. Aufgrund der Kartenform (eine Double Dutch Fold) hatte ich Probleme, ein Foto von der ganzen Karte zu machen. Hier ist eine Nahaufnahme des oberen Teils der Karte, damit ihr das mit Copics colorierte Motiv besser sehen könnt.

Hope you didn't fall of your chair :). My favorite thing about the Copic Markers is that they blend so beautifully and I love to blend until I have exactly the shade I had in mind. I first color the wings with E81 and then go over the tip of my E87 marker with my E81 marker to get a shade between those two, then I blend again. Since the new release will bring us more E8. colors this will not be necessary in the future. The giftwrap was colored with just a small amount of B91 very well blended with my Colorless Blender. I love this heavenly blue shade.
Ich hoffe, ihr seid nicht vom Stuhl gefallen :). Ich liebe an den Copic Markern ganz besonders, dass man so schöne Farbschattierungen damit erstellen kann und ich liebe es, solange daran zu arbeiten, bis ich genau die Schattierung erreicht habe, die ich mir vorgestellt habe. Ich habe die Flügel zuerst mit E81 coloriert und habe dann mit die Spitze meines E81 Farbe von E87 aufgenommen um einen Farbton zwischen diesen beiden zu erreichen, dann habe ich die Übergänge verwischt. Das wird zukünftig wohl nicht mehr nötig sein, da bei den neuen Farben weitere E8er dabei sein werden. Das Geschenkpapier habe ich mit ganz wenig B91 und ganz viel Colorless Blender coloriert. Ich liebe dieses Himmelblau.

Since I used a lot of color in the image I decided to keep the papers very basic so just one sheet of Magnolia Design Paper and white cardstock. Some embossing, some pretty white flowers and a gorgeous golden ribbon and that's it. The sentiment comes with the stamp and the only things that I added there were some Papermania Shimmer Dots.
Da ich beim Motiv viele Farben verwendet habe, habe ich beschlossen, die Papiere sehr einfach zu halten, nur ein Blatt Magnolia Design Paper und weißer Cardstock. Ein bisschen Embossing, ein paar hübsche weiße Blumen und ein niedliches goldenes Band, das war's. Der Spruchstempel gehört zu diesem Motiv und das einzige, das ich noch hinzugefügt habe, waren einige Papermania Shimmer Dots.
When you don't know my blog you may not know that I usually paper piece my images in 3D. Here is a side view of my card so you can see the depth and also the model of the card better:
Wenn ihr meinen Blog noch nicht kennt, dann wisst ihr auch noch nicht, dass ich meine Motive meist in 3D aufbaue. Hier ist eine seitlichere Ansicht meiner Karte auf der ihr sowohl die Tiefe als auch die Kartenform besser sehen könnt.

no lines technique with Copic tutorial

Recently the "no lines technique" is becoming quite common. I am not the one that came up with this technique/idea but I want to show you today how to use your Copics for this technique to create an image that looks like handdrawn.

In letzter Zeit wird die "Keine-Linien-Technik" immer bekannter. Ich bin nicht diejenige, die diese Technik erfunden hat, aber ich möchte Euch heute zeigen, wie Ihr diese Technik mit euren Copics ausführen und somit Motive erstellen könnt, die wie handgemalt aussehen.

You need:

Ihr braucht:

a ver light stamp pad - really doesn't matter which kind

ein sehr helles Stempelkissen - absolut egal welcher Art

a stamp/Stempel

the paper you use for coloring/das Papier, das Ihr immer fürs Colorieren verwendet

a piece of normal white paper/ein Stück normales, weißes Papier

Stamp your image on your coloring paper, using the light stamp pad. I know, usually you can't use water-based inks with your Copics but here your lines will disappear during the coloring just because they are so light and so it doesn't matter. Use whatever light color you have (even grey or blue work).

I went with Blush Blossom by Stampin'Up, which is a very light pink.

I also stamped the image on a scrap piece of regular white paper. During the coloring it might be hard to really see the details on your stamp so it might be good to have a good image to refer to.

In gerneral I suggest to use a quite simple image with bigger areas for your first try on this technique. I did my very first one using the tiger image from the newest collection by Magnolia and this is so much detailed - it was really hard to color!

Stempelt Euer Motiv auf das Papier, das Ihr fürs Colorieren benutzt. Verwendet zum Stempeln ein sehr helles Stempelkissen. I weiß, normalerweise können mit Tinte auf Wasserbasis gestempelte Motive nicht mit Copics coloriert werden aber bei dieser Technik sind die Linien beim Colorieren sowieso nicht mehr sichtbar, so dass es keinen Unterschied macht. Verwendet, was immer Ihr zu Hause habt - sogar hellgrau und hellblau funktionieren.

Ich habe hier mit "Blush Blossom" von Stampin'Up, einem sehr hellen Rosaton, gearbeitet.

Ich habe außerdem das Motiv einmal mit schwarzer Tinte auf ein Stückchen normales, weißes Papier gestempelt. Während des Colorierens kann es schwer sein, feine Detail zu erkennen und dann ist es gut, das Motiv einmal klar erkennbar vor sich zu haben, um sich daran zu orientieren.

Generell empfehle ich Euch für Euren ersten Versuch dieser Technik ein relativ einfaches Motiv mit größeren Flächen. Ich habe für mein erstes Mal den Tiger aus der neusten Magnolia-Kollektion verwendet und er ist so detailiert - das Colorieren war sehr schwer!

Before we start now I want to mention, that it was so hard to get a crisp picture of coloring the skin parts. The contrast just wasn't good enough so some of the pictures might seem a bit blurry. This is only for the skin parts, it got better when I did the clothes but of course I wanted to share the skin color pictures as well.

Bevor ich nun weitermache möchte ich noch bemerken, dass es leider sehr schwer war, annehmbare Fotos vom Colorieren der Haut zu machen. Der Kontrast war einfach zu schwach, so dass diese Bilder etwas verwaschen wirken. Das war nur bei den Hauttönen der Fall und beim Colorieren der Kleider hat es problemlos geklappt. Aber natürlich möchte ich Euch auch diese Bilder zeigen

When doing the no lines technique the most important thing is contrast or your image won't look nice when you're finished. I like to start with a middle tone, work on with the ligher colors and add the darkest last, using the other again to blend it all.

So first I used an E51 applying color to the areas that I want to be the darkest. I want the light to come from the top middle so the darker areas are on the sides.

Beim Colorieren mit der "Keine-Linien-Technik" ist das wichtigste, mit viel Kontrast zu arbeiten, sonst sieht Euer Motiv hinterher nicht realistisch aus. Ich persönlich fange am liebsten mit einem mittleren Farbton an, mach dann mit den hellen weiter und füge die dunkelsten am Schluß hinzu um alles dann mit den helleren Farben zu vermischen.

Ich habe also zuerst E51 auf die Stellen aufgetragen, die am dunkelsten sein sollen. "Mein Licht" soll von mittig oben kommen, so dass die dunklen Stellen seitlich liegen.

Next I used the E30 to add more color, going over the E51 color I applied before.

Als nächstes habe ich E30 aufgetragen und bin dabei auch über die zuvor mit E51 colorierten Bereiche gegangen.

Next color was E000.

Weiter ging es mit E000

Now I am going to add the darkest colors, starting with E13.

Nun werde ich die dunklen Töne hinzufügen und mit E13 beginnen.

Of course I also want to add some red cheeks which I use R20 and R22 for.

I also used E11 next to the E13 before I took the picture.

Natürlich soll mein Motiv auch roten Backen bekommen - dafür habe ich R20 und R22 verwendet.

Außerdem habe ich, bevor ich dieses Bild gemacht habe, auch E11 direkt neben den Bereich verwendet, bei denen ich zuvor mit E13 Schatten hinzugefügt hatte.

And now I used the middle and lighter skin tones again to blend the colors together. I didn't take a picture of each step here to not have 1000s of photos in this post.

After applying these colors, the finished skin areas looked like this:

Nun habe ich nochmal die mittleren und hellen Hauttöne verwendet, um alles zu vermischen. Ich habe hier nicht von jedem Schritt ein Foto gemacht, sonst wäre dieser Post endlos.

Nach dem Vermischen und Hinzufügen aller Farben sehen die fertig colorierten Hautstellen so aus:

Next I am going to color the hair and the jeans. I am using blue for both of these areas - just love blue hair for this image.
I am using the same technique like I explained for the skin tones, starting with my middle tone B95.

Als nächstes coloriere ich die Haare und die Hose. Ich habe für beides Blautöne gewählt - blaue Haare finde ich für dieses Motiv einfach toll.
Ich habe nach der gleichen Methode gearbeitet, die ich Euch bei den Hauttönen gezeigt habe, und habe hier mit dem mittleren Farbton B95 begonnen.

Next I added B93...

Anschließend habe ich B93...

...and then B91.
I want to have a very good reflexion of light on the hair and so I left a little area white.

...und dann B91.
Ich möchte auf den Haaren eine starke Lichtreflektion haben, darum habe ich einen schmalen Streifen noch nicht coloriert.

B99 ist the darkest tone I am adding now...

B99 ist der dunkelste Farbton, den ich nun hinzufüge...

...and then I continue with B97.

...und dann mache ich mit B97 weiter.

Next I used the middle and light tones again, to blend all the colors together. I also added just one layer of B91 to the area I left white before.

Als nächstes habe ich wieder die mittleren und hellen Blautöne benutzt, um schöne Farbübergäng to schaffen. Nun habe ich auch eine einzige Schicht B91 auf den Bereich aufgetragen, den ich zuvor weiß gelassen hatte.

For the shirt, bow and shoes I went with green. I started with a middle YG25...

Für das Shirt, die Schleife und die Schuhe habe ich grün gewählt. Ich habe mit dem mittleren Farbton YG25 begonnen...

...went on with a lighter YG13...

...habe mit einem helleren YG13 weitergemacht...

...and added my lightest YG11 then.

...und habe anschließend den hellsten Ton YG11 verwendet.

For the shadows I added the YG67 first...

Für die Bereiche im Schatten habe ich erst YG67 verwendet...

...went on with YG17 ...

habe mit YG17 fortgefahren...

....and finally blended it all together with the middle and lighter tones to get this result:

Using the same way of coloring I used C5, C3 and C1 for the shoes, belt and cuffs:

Nach dem selben Verfahren habe ich mit C5, C3, und C1 die Schuhe, den Gürtel und Armstulpen coloriert:

For the shadow around the image, the bottom and the belt buckle I used E43, E42 and E41. The shadow around the image has been softened a bit using the blender pen.

Für den Schatten um das Motiv, den Boden und die Gürtelschnalle habe ich E43, E42 und E41 verwendet.
Den Schatten um das Motiv habe ich mit dem Blender Pen etwas sanfter gestaltet.

Next I used a silver Spica Pen for the lines on the cuffs and a black Copic Fineliner for the shoelaces. A little later I also added the necklace with the same fineliner.
I also used a black Prismacolor pen to add just a very little of color to the darkest area. This just helps to define the image a little.

Als nächstes habe ich mit einem silberfarbenen Spica Pen die Linien auf den Armstulpen nachgezeichnet und für die Schnürsenkel einen schwarzen Copic Fineliner verwendet. Etwas später habe ich dann mit demselben Fineliner auch noch die Kette des Motivs wieder dazugemalt.
Zudem habe ich einen schwarzen Prismacolor Stift benutzt und nur eine winzig kleine Menge Farbe auf die dunkelsten Stellen aufgetragen. Dies definiert die verschiedenen Bereich etwas.

As a last step you now need to add the eyes and mouth.
I used a brown inkpad and my Stamp-a-Majig stamping guide to add the eyes but of course you can also handdraw them.
You will still be able to see the pupils and I used these to referr how and where to stamp the eyes to. I only added ink to the eyes and made sure there is no ink on any other part of the stamp.

Als letzten Schritt müssen nun noch die Augen und der Mund hinzugefügt werden.
Ich habe ein braunes Stempelkissen und meinen Stamp-a-Majig Stempelsetzer für die Augen benutzt aber natürlich könnt Ihr sie auch mit der Hand zeichnen.
Man kann immer noch die in hellrosa gestempelten Pupillen erkennen und ich habe diese als Anhaltspunkt benutzt um zu wissen, wo und wie die Augen gestempelt werden müssen. Dann habe ich nur auf die Augen Tinte aufgetragen und mich nochmal vergewissert, dass nirgends sonst auf dem Stempel mehr Tinte ist.

For the mouth I used my Stamp-a-Majig again but stamped it with a very light pink and handdrew it afterwards again using a red Prismacolor pencil.

Für den Mund habe ich wieder den Stamp-a-Majig benutzt, habe die Lippen mit hellem Pink gestempelt und sie anschließend per Hand mit einem roten Prismacolor-Stift aufgemalt.

Here comes my first post for the Copic Marker Europe blog. I'm so excited and also very, very nervous!
Hier kommt mein erster Post für den Copic Marker Europe Blog. Ich bin so aufgeregt und auch sehr, sehr nervös!

My first project for you is a shabby chic card. I love shabby chic and soft colors!
Both the image and the papers are from Magnolia's Sweet Crazy Love Collection.
Mein erstes Projekt für euch ist eine Shabby-Chic-Karte. Ich liebe Shabby-Chic und sanfte Farben! Beides, sowohl das Bild als auch die Papiere sind aus der Sweet Crazy Love Collection von Magnolia.

This little sweetie is called Tilda With Wrapped Heart. She is adorable, isn't she!! When I saw her, I decided she had to be on my first card for CME:)
On her dress I've used just a little of the darkest colors. I didn't want too much color on it.
On her hair I made small lines with my markers.
Around the image and on Tilda's dress I've made some small "pearls" with Liquid Pearls.
Diese süße Ding hier heißt "Tilda With Wrapped Heart". Ist sie nicht zauberhaft? Als ich sie gesehen habe, habe ich sofort entschieden, dass sie auf meiner ersten Karten für CME sein soll.
Auf ihrem Kleid habe ich nur ganz wenig von den dunkelsten Farben verwendet, ich wollte dort nicht zuviel Farbe.
In ihrem Haar habe ich kleine Linien mit meinen Markern gemacht.
Um das Motiv herum und auf Tikldas Kleid habe ich mit Liquid Pearls einige kleine Perlen gesetzt.

A few week ago, I bought this paper stack from Echo Park, Times & Seasons. Those colors aren't my colors. People who knows me, don't expect that I will bought an paper stack like this.

Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich den Papierblock Times & Seasons von Echo gekauft. Diese Farben sind nicht meine Farben. Leute, die mich kennen, würden nicht erwarten, dass ich so einen Papierblock kaufen würde.

Almost all my papers are pink, purple and pink, pink and pastels, Oh did I mention pink....?

The papers from this stack are so not pink, and totally different, but I liked them, especially the black and brown ones.

Fast alle meine Papiere sind rosa, rosa und lila, rosa und pastell, hatte ich schon rosa erwähnt?

Die Papiere in diesem Block sind sowas von nicht-pink, und völlig anders, aber ich mag sie, speziell die braunen und schwarzen.

At this time I chose the stamp "Revolver Hero" from Nellie Snellen, she is a Dutch Designer and she draws a lot of this cute stamps.

Dieses Mal habe ich den Stempel "Revolver Hero" von Nellie Snellen genommen, sie ist eine holländische Designerin und sie zeichnet viele niedliche Motive.

I chose a lot of papers from the stack and I glued a craft envelope behind the papers with a label.

With a spellbinder die, I cut the scallop oval and a oval from my Perfect Coloring Paper.

At this part I stamped the image with memento ink.

Ich habe eine Menge Papiere aus dem Block ausgesucht und eine Papiertüte und ein Label hinter die Papiere geklebt.

Mit einer Spellbinder-Schablone habe ich das gewellte Oval und ein Oval aus meinem Perfect Coloring Paper ausgestanzt.

Auf dieses Teil habe ich mit Memento gestempelt.

With distress ink, Frayed Burlap, I colored the edges of some papers.

The car is a die from Tim Holtz, also the fence die.

But for the fence die, I used some old leather.

Die Ränder des Papiers habe ich mit Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap gewischt. Das Auto ist eine Stanze von Tim Holtz, der Zaun auch, aber für den Zaun habe ich ein Stück altes Leder verwendet.

And of course I colored with Copics.

Und selbstverständlich habe ich mit Copics coloriert.

I used the E group E43 E44 E47 E49 for the leather clothes.

For this card I coloured a Magnolia Tilda image from the newest love collection.

Tilda is carrying magnolia flowers in her hand. Isn't she lovely?

Für diese Karte habe ich eine Tilda aus der neusten Love Collection von Magnolia coloriert.
Tilda trägt Magnolias in ihrem Arm. Ist sie nicht zauberhaft?

I wanted to use colors in the same colourgroup, so my card is in the purple/pink colours.

The paper I used on the background is from Little Yellow Bicycle, a very nice coloured paper with some glitter on it (it’s not easy to see it on the photograph). I thinks these colors are very suitable for a romantic card.

There is also a little red used on this paper. I made the ribbons in the hair red, but not much more red colour because this card has to have a purple/pink look.

Ich wollte Farben aus der gleichen Farbgruppe benutzen, darum ist meine Karte in Lila- und Rosatönen gehalten.
Das Papier, das ich im Hintergrund verwendet habe, ist von Little Yellow Bicycle. Es ist Papier in einer tollen Farbe, das mit etwas Glitter überzogen ist. Leider kann man das auf dem Bild nicht gut erkennen. Ich finde, diese Farben sind sehr passend für eine romantische Karte.
Auf dem Papier ist auch etwas rot verwendet, darum habe ich die Schleifen im Haar rot coloriert, sonst aber kein weiteres Rot mehr verwendet, denn diese Karte muss lila/rosa sein.

I used some swirls from Joy, beautiful dies to work with, and added some rhinestones. I also put on a big flower and a little rose.

Ich habe Schnörkel von Joy verwendet, tolle Dies um damit zu arbeiten, und ein paar Glitzersteinchen. Außerdem habe ich eine große Blume und eine kleine Rose auf der Karte benutzt.

My first project is this card. I have create a little scene and colored with the great Copics. Both stamps are from Magnolia. The sweet Tilda is called "Leaning Tilda" and is from the "You are so Spacial Collection".

Tutorial - Shading with mask

Today I want to show you an easy technique,
which can help you to draw a shadow for your image.

This technique is good for those who are not so sure about their drawing skills.

Heute möchte ich Euch eine einfache Technik zeigen, die Euch helfen kann, einen Schatten hinter Euer Motiv zu setzen. Diese Technik ist ideal für diejenigen, die sich nicht so sicher über Ihre zeichnerischen Fähigkeiten sind.

For this tutorial I choose "Trudy's with gift" by Mo Manning.

I colored the image and cut it.

Für dieses Tutorial habe ich Trudy's with gift von Mo Manning verwendet.
Ich habe das Motiv coloriert und ausgeschnitten.

Than I printed the image again on a regular paper and cut it as well.

This will be my mask.

Dann habe ich das Motiv nochmals auf normales Papier gedruckt und dies ebenfalls ausgeschnitten. Das wird Eure Schablone sein.

I took another paper and laid my colored image and my mask above it,
so the mask will peep a little behind.

Ich habe ein weiteres Stück Papier genommen, das colorierte Motiv darauf und dann die Schablone darüber gelegt, so dass die Schablone ein wenig verschoben ist.

I draw the outlines with W0.

Mit W0 habe ich die Außenlinien nachgefahren.

I filled out the outlines with my W0.

Dann habe ich den Bereich innerhalb der Linien mit W0 ausgemalt.

I decided I want the shadow a little darker

so I added some color strikes with W3 in the inner side

close to the colored image, and mixed everything with W0.

Ich habe beschlossen, den Schatten etwas dunkler zu machen, also habe ich ein paar Striche mit W3 hinzugefügt - nahe dem colorierten Motiv - und alles mit W0 vermischt.

After my shade was done, I took my image

and rounded it by pulling it's tow edges

than I lay my pop up glue on the sides of the back of the image

and glued it to the paper, so the center is little higher then the sides.

Nachdem mein Schatten fertig war, habe ich das Motiv etwas abgerundet indem ich die Ränder etwas umgebogen habe. Dann habe ich Pop Up Glue (z. B. Silikonkleber) seitlich auf die Rückseite aufgetragen und das Motiv auf das Papier geklebt. Die Mitte ist nun etwas höher als die Ränder des Motives.

Here is another example of droping a shadow when

your light source is coming from the side.

Ich bin so froh, hier zu sein. Ich fühle mich sehr aufgeregt, geehrt und auch ein bißchen nervös, LOL.

Today i made a card with this sweet little Tilda called Tilda with flower. She's from the new "sweet crazy love" collection. I love al the stamps from this new collection, so its really hard to choose witch one to color up first,lol.

Heute habe ich eine Karte mit der süßen kleinen Tilda mit Namen "Tilda with Flower" zu zeigen. Sie ist aus der neuen "Sweet Crazy Love" Kollektion. Ich liebe alle Stempel aus dieser neuen Kollektion so dass es wirklich schwer ist sich zu entscheiden, welches Motiv man zuerst colorieren soll, LOL.

Anyways, after a while i decided to go with this beautiful tilda.

I made my desicion becouse of my design papers. I have theese beautiful Maja Design papers with beautiful purple roses on that i have been patting for a long time know. Some papers are so hard to cut in, they are so beautiful. But nnow i finally decided to cut in them,lol.

I wanted to color that big flower that Tilda is holding in lilac/purple. I actually haven't used that much lilacs so I was off to the craft room to experiment a little on which copics to use.

I think i finally found a good combination, what do you think?

Wie auch immer, nach einigem Überlegen habe ich mich für diese süße Tilda entschieden.
Meine Entscheidung ist wegen der Designpapiere gefallen. ich habe diese wunderbaren Maja Design Papiere mit wunderbar lilafarbenen Rosen darauf, das ich nun schon einige Zeit getätschelt habe. Manche Papiere sind so schön dass es schwer fällt, hinein zu schneiden. Aber nun habe ich mich endlich dazu entschlossen, LOL.

Ich wollte die große Blume, die Tilda hält, in rosa/lila colorieren. Ich hatte vorher nicht so viel mit Lila coloriert, so dass ich in meinem Bastelzimmer etwas experimentiert habe, welche Copics ich am besten verwende.

Ich denke, letztendlich habe ich eine gute Kombination gefunden, was denkt Ihr?
